Flexible Rubber Drainage Adaptors
Build Plumb Plastics stock an extensive range of flexible couplers and adaptors (also know as Flexseals or Bandseals) for below-ground and above-ground applications.
Flexible Drain Couplers
Flexible Drain Couplings are used predominantly in sewer, drain and other non-pressure applications to join virtually any pipe material and diameter.
The outer stainless steel clamps provide a leak proof seal on any pipe material whether the surface is smooth or rough. On pipes where the outside diameters vary, bushes can be inserted to increase the diameters of the smaller pipe prior to connection. Where the difference in diameter exceeds 12mm a bush should always be used if a suitable adaptor is not available.
Flexible Adaptor Couplers
Flexible Adaptor Couplings are designed to join pipes together where there is a significant difference in outside diameter. The adaptor couplers have a stepped moulded elastomeric sleeve with different diameters at either end to enable pipes of varying diameters to be joined economically and quickly without the need for bushes. The sleeve is fitted with two stainless steel bands by which they clamp to the separate end of each pipe.

- Can I use a flexible coupling in a drain pipe?Yes, flexible couplings can be used in drain pipes. They are often used to connect two pipes of different materials or to repair a damaged section of pipe. However, it is important to choose the correct size and type of coupling for your specific drainage system to ensure proper function and prevent leaks.
- How does a flex-drain work?Flex-drain is a flexible, corrugated plastic tubing used for drainage. It works by allowing water to flow through the small channels in the corrugated plastic and into the tubing, which then carries the water away from the area. The flexibility of the tubing allows it to be easily bent and maneuvered to fit around obstacles and into tight spaces. It is commonly used for landscaping, French drains, and other drainage applications.
- What is a coupler drainage?A coupler drainage is a type of drainage system that uses couplers to connect pipes together. These couplers are designed to create a tight seal between the pipes, preventing leaks and ensuring that water flows smoothly through the system. Coupler drainage systems are commonly used in residential and commercial settings to manage stormwater runoff and prevent flooding.
- How do you connect two flexible drain pipes? To connect two flexible drain pipes, you will need a rubber coupling with hose clamps. Simply slide the coupling onto one end of the first pipe, then slide the other end of the coupling onto the second pipe. Tighten the hose clamps securely around each end of the coupling to create a watertight seal.
- What coupler allows the greatest flexibility?Flexible couplings are designed to accommodate various types of misalignment while transmitting torque between two shafts. There are several types of flexible couplings available, including elastomeric, metallic, and composite couplings. Each type has its own unique advantages and disadvantages, so it's important to choose the right one for your application. Ultimately, the coupler that allows the greatest flexibility will depend on your specific needs and requirements.
